Diamond-Coated Cubic Zirconia
You’ve heard of a cubic zirconia–the infamous diamond look-alike. Well, they have always been pretty quick to identify as different from diamonds, because they don’t have the same sparkle that a well-cut diamond does–and among other things, it weighs different than a diamond. However, there is a newer diamond simulant that has been created. This article talks about it–a Cubic Zirconia covered with diamond particles.
The problem posed here is that a diamond-covered cubic zirconia can look surprisingly close to a diamond visually. That’s the reason it’s important to take it to a jeweler who can appraise your stone and tell whether it’s a fake or the real deal. We have three Graduate Gemologists, who all have many years of experience identifying and appraising stones. Bring in your diamond to K-Jon’s in Atascadero, and we’ll take a look at it.
